Please reach us at George@GTSportsTherapy.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
24 hours notice is required to move or cancel your appointment. This will allow me to fill the available space. Full treatment fee is payable if this is not met.
We accept both card and cash payments on the day of the event.
For most massage treatments, we advise you to wear loose and comfortable clothing to make it easier for you to be able to dress and undress. In order for best results, you will be dressed down to your underwear and covered in towels during the massage. If requested treatment can be conducted over clothing, however this will make it more difficult for the therapist to get a personal touch of the client's skin - meaning things could be missed. Please note that changing is part of your treatment time. Any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
Yes. After booking an appointment, I will send you a short assessment form for you to complete, this will then be reviewed in person at the start of your first session and then you will be ready to go. During our maintenance massages, an extra 10-15 minutes will be needed at the start of the first session to carry out a physical assessment.
The 10-15 minute physical assessment is made up of a postural analysis and range of motion (RoM) testing. A postural analysis is conducted to allow me to acknowledge any functional anomalies that could be contributing to any current or future issues. A RoM test is conducted to identify any joint range issues, this will also provide a numerical response that we can compare to later on.
The subjective assessment form is used to allow me to review your past medical history and any current problems, including allergen issues. This form can be completed in person with us, however it may take time out of your treatment. Our policy requires this form to be reviewed in person at the start of your first session, however this will not take long if it is thoroughly completed in advance.
Sports massage therapy is designed to reach the deeper muscle tissues, requiring more pressure to be applied during the treatment. This means that pain can occur from this, however all of our treatments are tailored to each client's pain threshold to get the best results.
In short, yes! Sports massage therapy simply applies a deeper force to the muscle tissues; this means that our techniques are effective for relieving pain in relaxed or tensed muscles. Overusing a muscle group can be caused from a vast variety of reasons, for example, an office worker may suffer from headaches, or pain in the neck, shoulders or back. This can show the same amount of strain on the body over time as an athlete's workout would.
I am currently based in Heanor, Derbyshire or Burton-upon-Trent. Therefore I am able to travel anywhere in between and around these areas. This may also mean that small fuel charges could be applied if I am travelling further than 10 miles. If there are any queries, please get in touch.
Ideally I will require at least 2.5 foot around every side of the massage table, which is 6 x 2.5ft. This equates to a space of 11 x 7.5ft. Access to a sink and a free counter space will also be ideal, if the facilities are available. These measurements are for the optimal massage conditions, however in some cases I am able to reduce this area, please get in touch with any queries.
After a maintenance massage session I will always inform you of any after care advice that will benefit you. However these are not mandatory, they will only enhance the treatment provided.
